| 佛之形像。广义含菩萨、罗汉、明王、等像。其像虽有雕塑像、画像（绘像）二种，然仅雕塑像称佛像，画像则称图像。印度古代认为雕画佛像乃是冒渎神圣之事，故山琦（梵Sa^nchi^ ）等之古雕刻，仅止于以佛法、菩提树、佛足迹等标记象征佛。其后，随大乘佛教之兴起，佛像之雕刻始盛行，故诸大乘经典中有甚多关于造像因缘及其功德之记载。 Buddha's image.
