Buddha's image. The broad sense includes Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Ming kings, etc. Although there are two kinds of sculptures and portraits, only sculptures are called Buddha statues and portraits are called images. In ancient India, it was considered to be sacrilege to carve and draw Buddha statues. Therefore, the ancient sculptures of Shanqi (Sansa ^ nchi ^) are only used to symbolize Buddha with Buddhist method, bodhi tree, footprint of Buddha, etc. Later, with the rise of Mahayana Buddhism, the sculpture of Buddha began to prevail, so there are many records about the cause and virtue of statue in all Mahayana classics.
